Ken Howard ("Paul McCartney")

Gear: Hofner v'63 500/1 Beatle bass played thru Vox T100 amp & speaker

Favorite Beatle Tunes: "All My Lovin", "Nowhere Man", "Yesterday", "Penny Lane", "If I Fell", "Sgt. Pepper", "Back in The USSR", " Come Together"…actually, when I think of it…I pretty much like all of Lennon & McCartney tunes…who doesn't?

Favorite Beatles memory(ies): When John, Paul, George and Ringo made their debut appearance on the Ed Sullivan show back on February 9th, 1964, I was living in Munich, Germany with my family (me Dad was in the military). I missed the entire show, but heard their music over the airwaves. I was captivated by their vocal harmonies and Mersey sound. Who would have thought that many years later my path would cross three other musicians who had the talent to pull off a "Beatles" Tribute band. Dream come true! John said it best…"Imagine"

Musical Influences: The Beatles of course! Though there are many accomplished, professional bass players out there who can make the bass do things I've never dreamed of, I keep coming back to McCartney's melodic style. He is the paramount for me. Other musical influences for me: The Beach Boys, The Rollin Stones, The Mama's and the Papa's, The Carpenters (yes, it's true), Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Wings, Love Song, Chuck Girard, Petra, Acoustic Alchemy, Peter White, to name a few.

Other: By God's grace and mercy, I came to faith and repentance in Jesus Christ when I was in high school. Since then, I've sang and played bass in various church outreach and worship teams. I believe in the sovereignty of God and though AZ Beats caters musically to the secular world, my desire is that God would provide the unique opportunity for us to share the gospel with the folks we meet.
